10 Year Anniversary of 1699 !

This weekend marks the 10 year anniversary of 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝟏𝟔𝟗𝟗. Its premise was simple— engage young audiences in Early Music without diluting the music itself. A soprano, twelve instrumentalists on period instruments, four contemporary dancers, a supermodel, and eight 𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑜𝑛𝑛𝑖𝑒̀𝑟𝑠 performed cantatas by Louis-Nicolas Clérambault to a millennial audience dangerously over-capacity in an industrial loft in Griffintown, three nights in a row. Kids were literally sneaking in when the door-people no longer let them buy tickets...
